The Workshop on Policy and Practice for African Countries was hosted on 5 July in Beijing. Wang Guoliang, Deputy Director of China State Council Leading Group Office of Poverty Alleviation and Development (LGOP) presented at the opening ceremony. | International Seminar on Best Practices of Poverty Reduction in China |

December 1st, IPRCC launched its first external assistance program ---- the International Seminar on Best Practices of Poverty Reduction in China which was attended by 53 intermediate government officials from 27 developing countries covering Africa, Asia, Oceania (South Pacific) and North America (Caribbean Areas) to learn from the poverty reduction experiences in China. Zhang Lei, Managing Director of IPRCC hosted the opening ceremony.

| Poverty Analysis & Data Initiative！Chinese Mechanism&Evaluating the Impact of Projects and Programs Held in Beijing |

On April 10, 2006, the Seminar on Poverty Analysis & Data Initiative！Chinese Mechanism & Evaluating the Impact of Projects and Programs jointly hosted by IPRCC and WBI was launched in Beijing. Foreign Capital Project Management Center under State Council Leading Group Office, Jiangxi Provincial Office of Poverty Alleviation and GTZ co-hosted the seminar. Wang Guoliang, Deputy Director of LGOP, Shahid Khandker, Lead Economist of World Bank Institute and Liu Fangyu, Division Chief of Technical Assistance, International Department of Finance Ministry were invited to address the seminar.

| Basic Training Course(TOT) on Poverty Analysis Launched in Beijing |

November 2, 2005, the International Poverty Reduction Center in China launched a Basic Training Course on Poverty Analysis in the Chinese National Accounting Institute. Wang Guoliang, Deputy Director General of the State Council Leading Group Office of Poverty Alleviation and Development, Ruben Lamdany, Director of the Sector and Thematic Department of the World Bank Institute were invited to present at the training course and address the trainees. Zhang Lei, Managing Director of IPRCC chaired the opening ceremony.
