Assessment of the
Subject Designing for the Research on Poverty Alleviation
Policies in China Bordering Poor Areas and Policy Seminar by
IPRCC

27, 2005, IPRCC held Assessment of the Subject Designing
for the Research on Poverty Alleviation Policies in
China Bordering Poor Areas and Policy Seminar in
Beijing. The seminar was chaired by Zhang Lei, Managing
Director of IPRCC and attended by Xu Hui, Deputy
Director General of the Financial Department, LGOPAD,
Huang Zhongcai, Inspector of the Department of Policies
and Regulations, State Ethnic Affairs Commission and
staff of poverty-related agencies in Yunan Province and
Xinjiang Autonomous Region. The seminar invited
specialists from China Agriculture University, China
Central Ethnic University and Institute of
Macro-economics, NDRC to be the assessors.
The seminar started with a brief introduction of the
project and its implementation by Zhang Lei who was
followed by Professor Wen Tiejun, Dean of School of
Agricultural Economics and Rural Development, Renmin
University, and subject designing team members for the
research elaborating on the framework of research, the
main report and seven sub-reports. Fruitful discussions
and Q & As were conducted among all the seminar
participants and assessors referring to the content and
conclusion of the project and relevant policy issues in
bordering and ethnic minority areas. By the end of the
event, assessors gave their result of assessment.
